Gone but never forgotten...

Assalamualikum, I have written this since the day he passed away on the 13th of June 2019 but I just cannot bring myself to post it. Not much that I can share about him but to my family and me, he is a very special person indeed. In my eyes, he is a brother and a friend to whom we can discuss lots of things. It was a great loss to all of us but Allah loves him more. May all his good deeds make him one of those to Jannah...InSyaAllah.

Allahyarham A.Rahman Hassan

(30 Julai 1946–13 Jun 2019)
Life is very short indeed... in the blink of an eye, something or someone whom you knew and very close to or someone whom you admired from afar was gone forever. The only thing that we can remember was the moments we shared together. Those moments will be in our heart and in our mind until the end of time.

We all are living on borrowed time. A phone call from him last few months was the last I heard of him. He was in Johor attending a family’s wedding and at the same time meeting families from all over near and far to complete his task. He asked me to see him there to meet family members whom he think are related to my family line on my father’s side. I  could not make it because too short of time. We planned to meet again in future but in this case, the future will never come.

My long lost brother was gone forever. He collapsed and passed away peacefully in the arms of his loved ones.  When he was in the ICU, my husband and I managed to visit him.  Thanks to Chu Oki and husband Rauf for the visit. Even with all the tubes and wires, he still looked good and not a slight look of pain in his face.  Nothing! So peacefully. Subhanallah... he was just like in a very deep sleep.  But Allah loves him more. He was called back. Even though it hurts everybody, especially his wife, siblings, his sons Khir and Az plus the grandchildren.  This is because he loved having them around him all the time. It was said that every weekend or every festive day, every one of them will be gathering in his home in Ampang. He brought his family members in a very tight bond. This Silaturrahim he created was fantastic. He will be missed but each and every one of them. I hope they stay the same until the next generations to come. his sons especially have to lead the family now and make sure his legacy remains. But we have to accept fate. Abdul Rahman bin Hassan was gone forever but the memories and his songs that he left will cherish us and remind us of him for as long as we live.  My generation and earlier than I grew up with his songs.

He was a very loving person.  Although a well-known personality since the 1960s, he was such a very humble and down to earth. He always has time for everybody. He worked hard for his peer group and friends of the same profession especially and he stood up and fight for their rights. He was a real artist at heart and in mind.  I am very sure that his friends of the same era especially will miss him dearly. He was a grandfather, a very caring father, a happy husband and most of all a loving brother to everyone who knew him.

His family who love and adore him very much.

As for his wife, Datin Fadhilah Mansor whom we call Kak Chik. Please be strong and stay as nice as you are. Thank you very much for taking care of Nong. He missed Arwah  Kak Azizah so much and Allah sent you to him. You have been such a wonderful companion, a humble partner and a very understanding wife to him. He made no mistake of choosing you. May Allah blesses you with all the best in life.

Both of you will be missed.

On that special day, my husband was the emcee.

He was working on his family tree and worked hard to bring his family near and far together. I hope and I make dua,  may Allah grant him Jannah for all his good deeds in bringing families together and tightened the Silaturrahim amongst us. May Allah bless his soul.

The whole nation, young and old especially for his friends who were in the same boat with him entertaining us since the 1960s, will definitely miss him.
Please make dua for Allahyarham brother A.Rahman Hassan also known as Nong amongst families and closest friends and may he rest in peace. InsyaAllah.
